I've purchased the Shawna Arcopedico for years. This time I returned the pair I bought (pewter color) b/c the shoes, which have a tendency to be a little large, would not fit--- the elastic strap was ridiculously large/long/high and would not even touch my feet below. I've wondered if all of the various colors have the same elastic strap issue this year. Reason: In the past I've noticed the Shawna would fit differently depending on the COLOR I chose. Maybe manufactured in a different location? But at least in those cases the elastic strap was a reasonable size and could secure the shoes to my feet! I wrote Arcopedico and asked about this elastic strap defect of manufacturing, but heard zip. Guess no Arcopedico this year....I'm giving four stars because on the first few days I wore on a trip-- they felt awkward. I should not have done that. I could only walk in them for a few hours at a time. I wanted to mold them so on about the third day, they started to feel better. I guess you have to break them in... They were highly recommended by a friend who said "they're like a glove on my feet". Unfortunately, not for me on the first few days. The leather on the top of my toes irritated the skin, but not too bad as to cause a blister-- but annoying enough. I guess my toes are more sensitive than I thought. I'm hoping they mold to my foot a bit more, because I do like the style, the leather is soft and beautiful (except on the top of my toes for the first few days, unfortunately) and the arch support is excellent... I did get several compliments. This is my third pair. I bought a silver & bronze pair 10 years ago & they still are in great condition & so very comfortable. They are my ‘go to’ shoes for shopping & traveling. They maintain their comfort no matter how long you wear them. These are well-made, attractive shoes and so on that basis, I should rate them 5-star. I ordered my usual size (7.5M) and I wouldn’t want them any bigger or smaller. They are made of very soft leather which is great for comfort but doesn’t give them a polished look. Finally, they have a noticeable arch support which likely appeals to many, but I have flat feet and find the arch to be uncomfortably high. I really wanted to like them but I sent them back.I have five pair of Arcopedico shoes, two pair in this model which is the one that works best for my feet. I'll buy them new, I've even bought them off of eBay or bought a color I didn't want but was on sale, and then died them to a color I do want. They're incredibly well made, flexible, and durable shoes. I'm a nurse specialist and wear street clothes to work and these are my go-to work shoes. I have a VERY high arch and do need extra support with an insert, as I do with all of my shoes. Not a big deal. I can dress them up a bit or dress them down, the soles seem never to wear out.Bought these for a recent trip to Italy. I switched between these and a pair of Dansko sneakers each day. These were great with dresses and leggings as well as jeans. Great support, plenty of width in the toe box. I did have one day where I got a blister on my heel but that was because I wore nothing under them and didn't break them in before the trip. It's been a month since I got back and I have no issues. I wear them all the time. I really love these shoes. They've become my go to for the office as well.Love these shoes! They were comfortable from the moment I put them on. They can work as both casual and a little dressy. The only drawback - and this may be unavoidable - is that the shoes stain my heel black.I'm giving these 3 stars for potential. I didn't want to take the time to break them in. I live my life in flats, so wearing them felt almost like wearing heels, my feet hurt so badly after an hour in them. The back also scraped up my heel a bit, and even though I ordered a size up from what I normally wear, they were a bit tight. Roomy in the front, but narrow and tight everywhere else, especially the heel.. I feel like it might have just been my weird feet? Hard to give a bad review, but I'm returning them.
