I have been looking for some pull-on or side-zip waterproof leather boots to replace my Rockport Chelsea boots, which were great but neither waterproof nor as comfortable as you would think. These fit the bill! The rounded toe sacrifices style for comfort, but that is a trade my 40-something self is willing to make. I think it's going to take a little bit of time to get used to the cushions in the footbed, but I the removable insole is supportive enough that I don't need to add an arch support. I normally wear either an 8.5 W or a 9 M, and I got these in an 8.5 D (equivalent to a men's medium, which is slightly wider than women's medium or B). I think they'll be perfect with a thick sock, which at this stage is necessary because they're still a little bit stiff and the top of the shaft is cutting into my ankle. They make you pay for shipping. Boot runs very small. Size 6 are very narrow. Shipping is in dispute with my bank now.I love that this shoe is long lasting. I know this because a friend of mine has had a pair for three years, and they still look great. It is also very beautiful.I ordered 7W and was surprised that they felt a bit snug but it might be from the nice, removeable, cushioned insole, which is of a surprising thickness. They are lightweight, which I was not expecting but that's a plus for me. I love the detail and the color. I'm not crazy about the shoestrings but that's just me. I just noticed the small metal plate on the outer side says "waterproof". Another plus...The toe area of this boot is attractively styled leather, so it looks nice when the rest of the boot is hidden by your pants leg, and, unlike most waterproof boots, it does not make your feet hot & sweaty. The downside of the attractively styled toe is that it is less roomy than the rest of the boot and my foot slid forward into that tighter toe area, which made walking a bit uncomfortable--and why buy a waterproof boot if not to walk in it? (I wouldn't have kept it if my size weren't so hard to find. I will try to adjust the fit with an extra insole; if the toe weren't tighter than the rest of the boot, I could have gone down a size or two.) My foot is widest at the toes, slim at the ankles, so this would style would probably fit much better on someone who is shaped the other way around.I wanted a short boot to protect my feet from slush puddles and icy wind on my ankles. It's difficult to find any kind of boot for flat wide feet that pronate. This is the first time I got the 2E extra wide from Aravon and they fit fine. The base of the boot is very solid and designed for stability. The height of the sole at the front is 1/2 inch thick; this helps to keep your foot out of cold water, and I don't feel like I'm being pitched forward when I walk. They've kept my feet warm in 20 degree weather. There's a removeable memory foam insole that has a 1/2-length U-shaped hard plastic stability cradle. It's only on the bottom surface and won't dig into the sides of your arch. They're comfortable to drive in and the sole bottoms don't have the excessive amount of texture that causes your foot to snag on the gas and brake pedals.Very nice boots for cold, wet weather. I wear my "booties" all day at times in winter when I'm out and about. So comfort is king.Boots are just what I wanted: stylish, sufficient grippy tread without looking like a work boot, good with slacks for running around town. However, I normally wear the same size pretty consistently in all brands, and buy a Medium or B width. These boots are VERY snug in the toe box and across the ball of the foot at the toe strike plate. If you wear an A (narrow) to B (medium) width, they may be fine. If you wear a B (medium) but tend to a the wider side, the toe box will be too tight. Try ordering a half size up in that case but be prepared to return them if they aren't comfortable out of the box. Hence the low price on "medium" widths on Amazon. However, I can only wear thin socks and they are still snug. I have wide hard to fit feet (2E). This is the first dressy snow boot I have owned. I had hoped the boot, being by New Balance, would have a larger toe box. I wear the New Balance walking shoes, and have for years as they fit very well. I do like them despite the snug fit. We had a snow storm when I received them and very cold temperatures. My feet were warm and dry. (I didn't stand around in the cold so not sure if they would have stayed warm.) I wore them to a big box store and did a lot of walking and didn't think about my feet (which is a good thing). I would have given them 5 stars but I don't think they are a true 2E.These boots are amazing. I ordered the 'warm iron' colour. I love it. It seems a touch darker than I expected, still love it. I have wide feet and a high arch, I wear custom orthotics in my shoes. I have difficulty finding any boots that fit. These fit perfectly. I have 2 other pair of shoes by ARAVON so I was hoping these would work. As soon as I got them I wore them all day with no foot pain, very comfy. They look great, I highly recommend them.Very comfortable, fits perfectly.
