Just ordered two more pairs because I like these so much and I'm afraid they will stop making them. I am very rough on my shoes, live in the country and rarely stop to change shoes when I get home to take the dogs for a ramble out and about. These shoes are extremely comfortable and durable. I have a high arch and need plenty of room in the toe box. These do all that, plus give me a couple of inches that make me look a wee bit dressed up for work, and look great with pants. I wear them every day. These are an improvement on the model that have a seam down the middle, as they are not quite as clunky looking, have a more elegant line, plus the leather doesn't scuff up as easily. I do wish they had just a bit more tread, as the sole does not offer quite as good traction as some of the other Eastlands. Still, like I said, I ordered two more pair, this time one in black as well. I'm wearing my old pair as I type this, and will wear them every day while keeping my new pairs put up for events that require me to look more cleaned up. I also order the Maeko boot, and it seems fine, maybe just a tad snugger than I prefer, but these shoes have that good soft leather that will conform with a little wear, so I will give them a longer trial before I comment fully. hard not to reach for these Amore every morning though because they are "just right".I always buy these shoes they are my favorite. My old pair of Eastland Amore’s lasted almost 5 years and this style has always been my favorite. I buy them in black, but may branch out in the brown, too. They are comfortable (for me) right out of the box. Sometimes I slip in a Dr. Scholl’s orthotic, if I know I will be doing a lot more walking than normal, but don’t feel as though I really need the extra arch support for normal wear around town when I am running errands or have appointments. I wear them mostly with thin ankle socks, but have been comfortable with thicker ankle-high sport socks, also. I think you would have to order a half size up if you wanted to wear thicker socks than that. And if you did wear very thick socks, it would stretch out the leather a little and might not be a good fit for thinner socks afterwards.I give them a 4 instead of a 5 star rating, because stepping through wet grass or a shallow puddle, will result in a bit of moisture seeping through the stitching where the leather joins the shoe. You need to treat that area with something; mink oil or a a synthetic waterproofing cream I think.Eastland continues to make shoes that reinforce their excellent reputation! These shoes fit immediately when I put them on--no stretching out or "breaking in" required. The leather is high quality and the shoes are very comfortable and sturdy without looking like orthopedic shoes. I paid $75, which I believe is reasonable for the quality. I'll be ordering them soon in black.Bought this shoe for work - wore them all day shopping the first day - did not bother me and I have arthritis in both feet - usually both my feet are aching by the end of the day - did not happen in these - only point I noticed after all day wear was a tight point in the right small toe after about 7 hours. Second day of wear I did not notice this at all. I have to say I am used to wearing cowboy boots all the time, so this is a style I am used to, and my foot is generally considered slightly narrow, so take that into consideration. I really liked how high the instep came up onto my foot, they feel like boots to me, but you may not like this, and many people may find this uncomfortable, especially if they have a high arch or instep. I would definitely buy this shoe again when they wear out, but they seem very tough - I had a teenager step all over me with his cowboy boots when wearing these and did not get hurt nor did the shoes show any marks whatsoever - was surprised and grateful for that! From the side they are not as graceful looking as a cowboy boot or as narrow and feminine looking as the picture shows, but if you are unable to wear your boots to work and are looking for an acceptable substitute, this a good buy.I love these shoes. Great fit.I was looking for a simple black slip-on shoe that I could wear with jeans, even though they'd be largely covered up by the pants since I tend to wear them long. For that reason, I wanted something that had some type of heel on it, and the design of these is perfect. It gives me an extra boost (I'm 5'5") that keeps my jeans from dragging and they are fashionable and comfortable. I'm not a fan of the flats that are in style these days (give me heels or boots) but these have a boot look. Finally, I had shopped in stores and online *a lot* before I found these, and they were a really good price for the value. I'm very happy with them.Second purchase of the brown. First pair lasted a few years. Also have black. My go-to shoes in Fall, Winter, and Spring. Comfortable and true to size. I wear 11 and have a low instep and narrow heels so I need shoes like this that hold my feet in. Just wish the top stitching was the same color as the shoes.I have 2 medically implanted screws in my large toe on my right foot and it is very difficult to find a shoe that is comfortable. I purchased my first pair 3-4 years ago when I was in Maine and this fall I got a crack across the soul. The upper part was still perfect. I was panicked because none of my other shoes were as comfortable. I finally found the Eastland Amores on line and even though they were quite a lot more than I paid for my first ones I bought them anyway and I am very pleased with them. If they ever go on sale, I would like another pair in a different colour.Nailed it!Love them!
